Introduction & Product Philosophy
StokApp is a personal research and record-keeping tool built for a self-directed investor who trades manually somewhere else. It intentionally does not connect to a brokerage and it never places orders.
Instead, you tell it what you bought and sold, and in return it watches the markets you care about, runs the same mechanical checks a disciplined investor would run by hand, and asks Claude AI to turn all of that into a plain-language read: a stance, a risk note, a research summary, or a longer-term view.
It runs seamlessly across Mac, iPad, and iPhone, with your actions, rules, and research synced across all devices through your own private iCloud account.

Live & Historical Quotes
Fetches quotes for your positions, your watchlist, and each enabled market's leading stocks using your preferred provider.
Rules run first
Deterministic Mechanical Checks
Mechanical, zero-AI checks run constantly — trend, dividend yield, distance from 52-week low. Cheap, fast, and 100% deterministic.
Claude reads the rest
AI Synthesis & Rationale
Ranks candidates, writes plain-language rationale, and on request — conducts deep-dive research with live web search.
Getting Started Setup Guide
Install StokApp & Sign into iCloud
Install StokApp on your Mac, iPad, or iPhone. Sign into iCloud on the device so your actions, rules, and research follow you across all devices.
Add an Anthropic API Key
Navigate to Settings → Claude API. Required for AI features: daily scan rationale, Chat, Deep Dive, and Batch analysis. Keys are stored securely in Keychain.
Connect a Market Data Source
Navigate to Settings → Connections. Pick a supported provider (EODHD, Twelve Data, Finnhub, Alpha Vantage, TASE Data Hub) and enter your credential.
Log What You Already Hold
Go to My Actions → add a Bought entry for each existing position with shares and price paid so Portfolio computes your real cost basis from day one.
Optional: Brief Notifications & Webhook
Configure Settings → Notifications & Email for scheduled morning and close briefs via Gmail SMTP, in-app alerts, or custom webhooks.

Your Daily Home Screen & Market Overview
Your home screen provides an index snapshot for every enabled market, your portfolio's day P&L across held positions, and a full list of every stock in the daily scan grouped by market.
